Our Little Story
On both Asian and African continents, the elephant is characterised by his long memory and great wisdom. In Asia it is also a sign of good luck and good fortune. Like in Thailand, where we can see people having a small elephant at their door to get protection from bad luck! A little anecdote I heard: It is said that on the eve of giving birth to Buddha, his mother dreamed that a white elephant presented her with a lotus (symbol of purity and knowledge); since then, the white elephant has a connotation of fertility.
We choose to represent a baby elephant, connotation to fertility and symbol of birth. A sitting, playing baby elephant, looking joyful. The eyes are closed and the nose is moving: it is because baby elephants are blind so the nose is their way to feel things. Their trunks are very sensitive, so they can use it to communicate and scent.
