Our Little Story
Growing up in Paris, the Iris flower, or rather la Fleur-de-Lis could be seen everywhere: on the door in the street, on tableware, in every museum,… Because it is the emblem of France. It is said that the 3 standard petals stands for Wisdom, Faith and Chivalry. Legend has it that Clovis adopted the symbol when water lilies showed him how to safely cross a river and succeed in battle. Later, French soldiers had the emblem on their armor given them courage and faith to win the battle. I also wear one on me, giving me the strength to go to work!
3 standard petals, main characteristic of Irises. However the middle one has a “V” shape representing Victory and a sword in the middle, reference to Joan of Arc and Charles VII’s successful access to throne. The falls of the flower has la Fleur-de-Lis image, remembering the National flower of France.
