Our Little Story
My old neighbour grew flowers on her balcony. The flowers bloomed all year round. One winter, I asked her what kind of flowers she was growing and she told me: “Ce sont des tulipes”. She told me she liked tulips because each colour of tulip has a meaning. Her favourite is red. The story behind red tulips was a Persian prince who galloped over a cliff after losing the love of his life. His blood dripped and each drop came out magically as red tulips as a symbol of his passionate love. It was so romantic.
This design came as an inspiration of the Persian prince. I used both red, to symbolise passion and love and blue, to symbolise trust and loyalty. I used seashells, which symbolises protection and long lasting love, to reinforce love and loyalty.
